Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house,

Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse.

The stockings were hung, by the chimney with 3M Venture tape,

In hopes that St. Nick would be there, in bell shape.

This would be our first Christmas, in our brand new home,

Our roof was insulated, with only the best spray foam.

The children were nestled all snug in their beds,

Had just settled down, in our new holiday swag.

When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter.

I sprang from the bed to see what was the matter.

To the top of the porch! To the top of the wall!

Now dash away! Dash away! Dash away all!

I waited like last year to hear sounds from the roof,

The prancing and pawing from each little hoof.

But I heard him exclaim, ‘ere he drove out of sight.
